Christian home businesses are also very popular and have been throughout history. These businesses include teaching children, farming, cooking, and taking care of daily activities.
Often in a Christian household depending on the denomination of the religion the women stay at home and the men go out and make the money. Sometimes the men will do construction work to help out their own families or go out into the workforce. One Christian family that practices Christian home business is the Duggar family. In their family the father has commercial properties that he rents, and also serves as a preacher to his community. By doing activities such as these gives the family time to take mission trips to teach others the way of the lord.
Some Christian businesses are not monetary. In some Christian homes the mother will stay home and home school the children. This is a business of instilling knowledge into their family. Some Christian families will earn money by creating and selling materials that reference the lords, such as books, crosses, jewelry or other items.
Another very large business that is done by Christian families is farming. These families that farm will sometimes rent a store and sell their produce and baked goods for a fee. Depending on the area this can be a good business, and will benefit people immensely. In the city businesses like these may be scarce, but people who live in the city will visit the weekend farmer markets or these stores to get their produce. Produce that is found in these types of stores is in most cases much fresher and better tasting because it is home grown and done so most times without pesticides. People who have these businesses get their family and friends involved in the business and at seasonal events such as Easter and Christmas may sell craft items for people to give as gift.
There is also a large market for Christian books and movies. These movies are sometimes done at home but in most cases are done at a local TV studio or a movie set. The books can be written at home, and are written on topics such as razing a family, having faith in God, and how to get through the tough times and still have faith.
